Originally from Varpaisjärvi and settled in Tampere after moving from Savo, Pirttikangas has built a long, versatile and prolific career. He is known for his solo albums as well as roles as frontman of Cosmo Jones Beat Machine, a founding member of Astro Can Caravan, and for collaborations with PekkoKäppi and Talmud Beach. In 2018 he was named Artist of the Year at the Blues Awards.
