Lassi Friman Quartet performs Alteration at Finlaysoninkuja 9, Tampere on 19 September 2026, from 22:00 to 01:00. The late-evening concert is part of the Tampere Guitar Festival programme and showcases Friman's current quartet work.
The band plays melodic, groove-based jazz that balances intimate acoustic moments with electrically colored passages. Friman's compositions pair memorable melodies with layered rhythmic ideas; his guitar timbre meets Toomas Keski-Säntin's warm Rhodes, while Antti Lötjönen and Joonas Riipa provide a flexible, breathing rhythmic foundation. Friman, a Helsinki-based guitarist and composer who completed a master's at Sibelius Academy in 2025, leads this project as a platform for original, contemporary Finnish jazz writing.
