Kangasala Folk is a family-friendly folk music festival day at Kangasalan Pirtti (Tapulintie 6) on Saturday 12 September 2026, running 10:00–21:00. The programme is split into a morning children’s concert, an afternoon Folk Workshop and an evening concert featuring local pelimanni groups and headliner Tallari.
The day opens with the Soiva syli children’s music concert where young listeners can sing, play and join in: drums, shakers, kantele and ukuleles are used and children are invited to take part as a little orchestra under the direction of Petra Käppi and Silja Palomäki. Kangasalan Pikkupelimannit, led by master musician Leenamaija Raukola, follow the morning programme. The Tallari-led Folk Workshop runs 14:00–17:00 and welcomes experienced acoustic players and singers; workshop tutors include members of Tallari. Evening concerts from 18:00 showcase Kansanmusiikkiyhtye Roinetta, Kangasalan Balladipelimannit and Tallari, who will perform highlights from their recent repertoire. Tickets are sold at the door before each subevent; workshop participants should pre-register by 9 September via the organiser’s form.
