Tampereen Flamencoviikko 30th Anniversary Week
Tampereen Flamencoviikko celebrates its 30th anniversary with concerts, workshops, installations and free events at Tampere Conservatory from 17–20 September 2026.
Tampereen Flamencoviikko marks its 30th year with concerts, workshops, installations and free events at Tampere Conservatory from 17 to 20 September 2026 (opening 17 Sep at 13:00; closing 20 Sep at 15:00).
The programme includes international guest dancer Mario Ruiz (MEX) in the world premiere of Carta a mi madre with guitarist Eloy Cito Gonzales (MEX) and singers Silvia Reina (ESP) and Antonio Hurtado (ESP). Spanish artist-researcher Paula Bruna and singer Curro Rodríguez present a collaboration with Alhaja Records titled Embolismo por soleá (seguiriya y muerte), followed by a public art-and-science discussion with the artists and Professor Timo Vesala (INAR), chaired by Ulla Taipale. The festival opens with Anna Haaranen’s monologue Older Women and Flamenco, and weekend highlights include a 360-club programme at Galleria Himmelblau with guitarist Joonas Widenius, singer Anna Murtola and dancer Ingrid Mugun (EST), plus the festival’s 30th-anniversary installation and a Roni Kuulasvuo exhibition. Workshops cover dance, song and guitar – including Mario Ruiz’s free Flamencon ABC class and a family workshop on flamenco compás led by Milla-Maija Saari with musicians Toni Jokiniitty, Eva Alkula and Pekka Siiskonen. Hobbyists can perform in the Open Stage concert at Tampere Conservatory’s Pyynikki Hall on Saturday 19 September as part of the Tango–Guitar–Flamenco week.
