1990s Disco, Jahnukaiset Anniversary and Nits Headline Tampere Rock City Week
Tampere Rock City's week of live music runs in mid-September, anchored by Levylasset Juissi & Jykke's 1990s disco at Tavara-asema and closing with Dutch veterans Nits on September 14.
Levylasset Juissi & Jykke are taking their 50+ Disco from Komediateatteri to Tavara-asema and will spin a set of 1990s hits on Saturday, September 12. The duo anchors Tampere Rock City's week of live music, which features both domestic and international names, Tamperelainen reports.
The bill includes Jahnukaiset's 30th-anniversary show at Tavara-asema, where the band, fresh from last spring's album Sivistys, will blend new material with swingy, everyman jazz led by Jukka Tilsan's clarinet and Pasi Heikura's guitar.
The Munsons split their appearances between Telakka on Friday and G Livelab on Saturday, promising a stew of country, rockabilly, rhythm and blues and rock'n'roll delivered with high energy.
Jambo and Sara Bee bring contemporary Finnish pop to Olympia on Saturday, backed by electric sounds and recent industry recognition. Dutch veterans Nits close the week at Tavara-asema on Monday, September 14, with an artful, melodic set led by frontman Henk Hofstede.
