Tamperelainen reports that Estonia's National Opera and Ballet will bring Sleeping Beauty to Tampere Hall on 12–13 November. Three performances will be accompanied by the Tampere Philharmonia, conducted by Kaspar Mänd. Showtimes are 18:00 on 12 November and 13:00 and 18:00 on 13 November. The production is choreographed by Thomas Edur, with sets and costumes designed by Peter Docherty. The staging includes pyrotechnics, such as simulated firing effects and flashing lights, and the cast presents Princess Aurora, various fairies and the prince, along with storybook figures like Red Riding Hood and Puss in Boots. Suvi Leinonen, artistic director of Tampere Hall, says the ballet is a good choice for a child's first ballet experience.
