Ilves says Matic Török has signed a new multi-year contract that keeps the Slovenian forward in Tampere through spring 2029.
Török, who turned 23 in July, enjoyed a breakout first season in Tampere. He scored 18+19=37 in 59 Liiga regular-season games. In the playoffs he added 5+5=10 across 13 matches, and he posted 5+2=7 in nine Champions Hockey League games.
His previous deal covered 2026–27 with an Ilves option for 2027–28; the new agreement runs to spring 2029 and contains no options.
Sporting director Timo Koskela hailed Török's season and work ethic, calling him a young, versatile and highly committed player whose extension strengthens the roster for coming seasons.
The published squad list shows Török contracted through 2029 alongside teammates such as Mantas Armalis (2027) and Jan-Mikael Järvinen (2028). The move continues the club's roster building after the club's May signings.
Török will also appear in the first Carpool Karaoke episode on ILVES+, sharing his Tampere favourites with host Essi Hakala.
