According to ePressi, the Lempäälä Housing Fair at Saikka will run 10 July–9 August 2026 and is expected to draw about 100,000 visitors, but local home sales have not yet shown the usual fair-year uplift.

According to ePressi, the Housing Fair at Lempäälä’s Saikka residential area will run 10 July–9 August 2026 and is expected to draw roughly 100,000 visitors, but local housing transactions have not yet shown the typical uplift during a fair year. Earlier coverage noted the Tredu-built Aurora show home will be presented to media during the fair.

Traffic arrangements have also been detailed by Tamperelainen. Parking will be handled from a dedicated Realpark car park, with shuttle buses running the Realpark–Ideapark–fair route about every 10 minutes (Fri–Wed 9:00–19:00; Thu 10:30–21:00). After the fair closes, there will be a final shuttle from Ideapark to the fair until 20:30.

Tamperelainen adds that Ideapark’s southern entrance will be reconfigured into a one-way layout near the motorhome parking. Incoming traffic will use an alternative route via the Ideapark–Marjamäentie junction, while pedestrians and cyclists will be directed to another entrance. Unauthorized vehicle access will be blocked with fences.

Motorhome parking at Ideapark will be limited to five spaces, with a fee of €10 per night. Tamperelainen reports that the spaces will be sold at the fair information point and cannot be reserved in advance.

Sp-Koti CEO Jukka Rantanen said housing fairs usually give host municipalities national visibility and can accelerate local home sales, pointing to Oulu where transaction volumes rose 16.6 percent last year. Nationally, the KVKL Price Monitoring report shows housing transactions fell 13 percent in January–May 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

In Lempäälä the market has mirrored that slow start: transactions were down in January–May compared with last year, while average selling time shortened from 122 days to 97. Sold properties have not changed significantly by size, year built or price per square metre, and Rantanen expressed optimism that the fair's impact will become visible later in the year.

The prolonged downturn in housing and construction has also altered how the fair is realised. Where builders once completed show homes and sold many before or during the event, this year buyers for house packages had to commit before construction could start. Still, nearly all plots at Saikka have been reserved and there are noticeably more finished fair houses in Lempäälä than there were in Oulu last year.

Rantanen highlighted Lempäälä’s location, 25 kilometres from Tampere centre, its services including Ideapark, and recent new school and daycare facilities as assets likely to support demand. He said housing fairs typically boost construction, investment and employment and can help attract new residents to the area.
