Ilves extended its winning streak to seven games with a 6–4 victory over K‑Espoo at Nokia Arena on Oct. 3.
Jens Lööke opened the scoring just 1:12 into the game and added a second in the 31st minute. Luke Henman, Austin Strand, Lukas Jasek and Erik Borg also scored for Ilves. Kiekko‑Espoo replied via Eeli Salovaara and Mathias From. Connor Corcoran later cut the deficit to 5–4, but Borg sealed the result with a goal at 59:59.
Christoffer Rifalk finished with 21 saves. He made an early stop 15 seconds into the match. Petteri Rimpinen faced 25 shots for K‑Espoo.
The crowd at Nokia Arena was 5,470, and the victory put Ilves back atop the Liiga standings with eight wins from nine games. Ilves plays three times next week: away at Sport in Vaasa, at home against Lukko, and away at Jokerit in Helsinki. The win continues the club's run, coming after its Sept. 27 victory at Nokia Arena in front of 8,421 fans.
