An openly racist far‑right Blue‑Black group will hold a May Day demonstration at Jugendtor in Tampere from 12:00–16:00, with a planned march and warnings of possible clashes with counter-protesters.

A provocative far-right demonstration organised by the openly racist and fascist Blue-Black movement will gather at Jugendtor in Tampere on May Day, raising the risk of clashes with counter-protesters, Aamulehti reports. The event runs from 12:00 to 16:00 and includes a march planned between those times.

Active Club Tampere — described as an extreme-right, ethno-nationalist group — says it will join as a self-styled “black bloc” and has urged members via Telegram to wear black. Police had not confirmed the march route by Tuesday evening.

Last year’s White May Day rally featured masked participants, multiple Nazi salutes and clashes with about 200 counter-demonstrators; police arrested 15 people, and a Pirkanmaa district court later fined one woman 30 day-fines (1,260 euros) for careless handling of a burning torch.

Tampere will also host several other May Day events that day: the student engineers’ May Day procession from Amurinpuisto at 12:10; the student baptism (teekkarikaste) at Tammerkosken ranta at 13:00; the Mobilists’ May Day drive (Vappuajo) at 11:30 from Hämeenpuisto; the Jesus march from Sorinaukio at 14:00; and left-wing gatherings at Freckellin aukio and Laikun lava.
