Pauliina Kostiainen Elected 2027 National Chair of Suomen Nuorkauppakamarit, Olli Remes Chosen as Vice-Chair in Turku
Pauliina Kostiainen will serve as national chair of Suomen Nuorkauppakamarit in 2027, and Olli Remes won the contested vice-chair election at the autumn conference in Turku.
At its national autumn conference in Turku on 9–11 October, Suomen Nuorkauppakamarit ry elected its leadership for 2027.
Pauliina Kostiainen was chosen as national chair for 2027. A member of the Hämeenlinna Junior Chamber who lives in Valkeakoski, she works as development and communications manager at Häme Entrepreneurs. She reminded delegates that officers serve one-year terms and said the Junior Chamber aims to give members opportunities to develop through socially meaningful projects and personal growth. "The core of the Junior Chamber is to provide members with opportunities to develop, both in socially significant projects and in personal development. Next year's theme is to raise our activities to a more impactful level," Kostiainen said.
The vice-chair contest drew particular attention. Olli Remes, representing the Oulu Tervaporvarit Junior Chamber and CEO of Aseliike Markus Remes, won the vice-chair election. He prevailed in a contested vote. In the organisation, the national vice-chair typically moves into the chair role after a year. "Junior Chamber activity has given me a huge amount. I am eager to carry our message forward so that new generations find this great activity," Remes said.
The national board includes officers for communications, finance, partnerships, societal impact, education, membership and international affairs. Suomen Nuorkauppakamarit has more than 5,000 members in Finland. It was founded in 1957 and will mark its 70th anniversary in 2027.
