Pirkanmaa wellbeing area reported a €110 million surplus for the first nine months of 2026 but still faces about €68 million in uncovered deficits and expects the full-year surplus to fall to roughly €88.2 million.

The surplus covers the first nine months of 2026, Tamperelainen reports.

The wellbeing area expects the full-year result to fall to about €88.2 million, because the fourth quarter has historically run a clear deficit. It still faces roughly €68 million in uncovered deficits and must bring its finances into balance by the end of 2026 to comply with the financing law timetable.

Service delivery largely met statutory obligations and local targets. Rescue readiness targets were achieved across most of the area, but the Tampere urban region showed local shortfalls. Emergency medical services missed median response-time goals in some towns and sparsely populated rural areas; 90 percent of tasks met the set time target across all areas.
