Hypon's annual assessment names Pirkkala Finland's top municipality for housing creditworthiness with an A+ rating, citing its proximity to Tampere, planned land releases and strong local services.

Hypon's annual assessment ranks Pirkkala as Finland's top municipality for housing creditworthiness, awarding it an A+ in the lender's latest classification, YLE reported.

Ten municipalities were placed in the A group. From the Tampere region, Lempäälä, Tampere and Kangasala received A- ratings; Espoo, Helsinki, Kempele, Oulu, Turku and Kauniainen also made the A list. A higher rating can mean cheaper mortgages and housing company loans.

People YLE spoke to pointed to Pirkkala's location next to Tampere and long-term zoning plans, including planned land releases in Loukonlahti and Pakkalankulma. They also highlighted strong local services, investments in schools and an unusually active housing market for a municipality of its size.

Hypon chief economist Juho Keskinen said, "Tampere's growth and vitality radiate to Pirkkala," and highlighted the area's energy-efficient housing stock and rising population. Real estate agent Tuukka Salomaa pointed to high education levels and steady demand for family homes. Mayor Marko Jarva cited more than 100 million invested in school facilities over the last decade, and said the incoming light rail to Partola is already shaping planning, though he cautioned that price growth must be kept under control.
