Tampere will convert several Plusbus lay-by stops into in-lane stops on Pitkäniitynkatu and Nokiantie, adding waiting areas and shelters and renewing pavements, cycle routes and lighting where needed.

The city will convert several Plusbus lay-by stops into in-lane stops along Pitkäniitynkatu and Nokiantie.

Plans for the Karosenpolku–Ruskontie section replace lay-by stops with in-lane stops east and west of the Pitkäniitynkatu junction. This separates waiting areas from the shared sidewalk and cycle path. North-side waiting areas will be 3.6 metres wide; south-side ones will be 2.8 metres, and both stops will get shelters. The carriageway will be 6.5–7 metres, while the pedestrian and cycle route will measure 3.3–3.5 metres. Pavement work is planned across the street, and about 65 metres of the eastern Pitkäniitynkatu sidewalk will be renewed for cabling and lighting from the Juvankatu junction.

Between Vanha Juvankatu and Kolunkatu, the southern stop will move west of the Annalankatu intersection so a single stop can serve all local lines. The new south stop will have a 2-metre waiting area, a pedestrian link and no shelter. The northern stop shifts slightly west so the shared path runs behind its shelter; that waiting area will be 3.5 metres.

On Nokiantie, between Pukkisaarenkatu and Metsäkylänkatu, a lay-by will become an in-lane stop. The new waiting area will be 1.75 metres, and walking and cycling will use two-metre lanes. Pavements, the cycleway and lighting will be renewed where needed.
