Punkalaidun names Sastamala’s Jukka Tapiola municipal manager

According to YLE, twenty-nine candidates applied for Punkalaidun's municipal manager post. On Monday the municipal council elected Sastamala native Jukka Tapiola as municipal manager. Tapiola holds master's degrees in economics and administrative sciences and currently works as administrative director at the Sasky education consortium. Tiina Pelkonen, who was chosen earlier this year as Aura's municipal manager, was granted resignation from the Punkalaidun post effective 7 April. Administrative director Tiina Mäkiranta has served as acting municipal manager in the interim.
