Myllylä rose to national icon status as a six-time Olympic medalist, but his career was ruptured in 2001 by a doping scandal that shook the nation. The documentary, according to the producers, examines the man behind the headlines—an attempt to present a candid portrait of ambition, loneliness, and the longing to be seen. Ricks says the film is an authentic, moving story about passion, outcasting, and the quest for forgiveness and mercy, framed as a Finnish contribution to the broader conversation about what it means to be human.

The project is a collaboration between Tamperelainen-based Wacky Tie Films and international partners Story Ab (Sweden) and f(x) produksjoner AS (Norway), with a planned theatrical release in 2027.
