The city has approved two public art contracts for school buildings, with the Kaukajärvi commission the costliest. The project is to be integrated into the construction timeline and the surrounding environment, with VAT added. The Kaukajärvi work is the largest, while the Tammela project is smaller, featuring an interior piece with a maximum price of €35,000 excluding VAT and a total Tammela art budget of €135,000, the majority of which goes to an outdoor sculpture
The two art initiatives are tied to the schools’ renovation plans, and after sketches are approved, Tampereen taidemuseo will sign separate contracts to implement the works, according to Aamulehti.
