Tampere firm Mesimarjasi ranks among Finland's top home care providers in THL survey
Mesimarjasi Oy says a THL survey ranked its Pirkanmaa home care among Finland's best, citing high customer and staff satisfaction and a staff-centred operating model.
Mesimarjasi Oy said in a press release that a THL national survey published on Thursday 8 October rated its Pirkanmaa home care among the best in Finland. The recognition reflects strong customer scores and a staff-centred operating model, the firm says.
THL's Kerro Palvelustasi (Tell About Your Service) survey canvassed more than 40,000 elderly service clients on sufficiency, safety, respect for clients' wishes and willingness to recommend services. The firm reported an internal customer satisfaction score of 9.5 out of 10 and a staff satisfaction score of 9.2, which it says helped secure its top placement in Pirkanmaa.
The company attributes the results to a model that prioritises close, flexible care and employee well-being. Teams have a role in everyday decision making and help plan their shifts, and the employer stresses quick joint problem solving when caregivers raise issues. "Our work adapts to caregivers' lives, not the other way around," founder Ville Vuolukka said. He added that staff who can influence their work and recover properly are better able to meet clients as individuals.
Recruitment interest appears strong. Operating in Pirkanmaa, Satakunta, Keski-Suomi, Etelä-Pohjanmaa and Pohjois-Pohjanmaa, it receives more than 300 job applications a month, the founders said. "Applicants value our different way of working," co-founder Lauri Oksanen said, adding the aim is to be an employer where professionals can influence their work, develop and perform it well.
Founded in Tampere in 2018 by Vuolukka and Oksanen, the firm employs about 70 people in Pirkanmaa and roughly 200 nationwide. Its services include home care, home nursing, professional disability services and care for clients needing respiratory support. The founders say their aim from the outset was to build a service they would choose for their own relatives.
