Tampere will begin recruitment-oriented training in early 2027 to fast-track bachelor's and master's graduates into qualified early childhood teachers. The 15-month programme offers 70–75 credits and about 12–15 local study places.

From early 2027, the City of Tampere will offer recruitment-oriented labour market training to fast-track bachelor's and master's degree holders into early childhood education. The programme aims to convert degree-holders who lack an early childhood education qualification, and those in fixed-term posts, into qualified teachers for daycare and pre-primary settings.

The course consists of 70–75 credits delivered over roughly 15 months through classroom lessons, remote study, independent work and practical placements in early childhood education units. Participants are expected to be placed in fixed-term positions about four months after starting. Permanent employment opportunities may follow once they are fully qualified. Tampere plans about 12–15 study places locally, and roughly 100 places are planned across six cooperating cities. Tendering begins in early October and applications are slated to open in early 2027.

The scheme responds to rising local demand for qualified teachers and will make holders of a master's in education eligible for daycare director posts.

The programme builds on earlier fast-track initiatives in Tampere that guided recent graduates into vocational qualifications Takk's fast-track routes. It comes amid persistent shortages in qualified special-education and daycare staff this autumn when many temporary special-education posts remained unfilled by fully qualified teachers.
