Two Men Held Over Killing at Kaukajärvi Apartment as Police Seek Remand

Two men in their 40s were detained earlier this week after an adult was killed at a private apartment on Riipuksenkatu in Kaukajärvi, police said. The victim and the suspects were known to each other, and investigator Jani Ortamala is leading the preliminary inquiry.

The suspects will appear before the Pirkanmaa district court on Friday for a remand hearing. Ortamala declined to provide further details while the investigation continues.

Both men have previous convictions. One was most recently sentenced in September for a stabbing in Härmälä earlier this year; that conviction is not yet final. He was also held in custody this summer on suspicion of preparing a serious crime against life or health and was released at the end of August. The other has past convictions for narcotics and assault offences, police said.
