Understudy Sanni Lehto to play Elphaba in Tampereen Työväen Teatteri's Wicked through year-end
Sanni Lehto will play Elphaba in Tampereen Työväen Teatteri's production of Wicked through the end of the year, replacing Yasmine Yamajako.
YLE reports that Sanni Lehto, the show's understudy, has been rehearsing the part and will replace Yasmine Yamajako for performances through year-end. The theatre announced the casting change on its website and Lehto confirmed it on Instagram. Wicked opened on the Main Stage on 3 September and is directed by Samuel Harjanne, who also directed the company's Beauty and the Beast musical. The casting change forms part of the theatre’s 125th season and its large-scale Wicked production the theatre's season announcement.
