Villi and Ruotsalo: Hand-sewn Textile Sculptures Meet Mythic Asfodeliniityt at Showroom Klingendahl
Showroom Klingendahl presents Sini Villi’s hand-sewn three-dimensional textile sculptures alongside Panu Ruotsalo’s Asfodeliniityt paintings inspired by the Greek myth of the asphodel meadows.
The exhibition pairs Sini Villi’s three-dimensional textile sculptures, hand-sewn and formed from handcrafted ribbon, with Panu Ruotsalo’s Asfodeliniityt series of paintings inspired by the Greek myth of the asphodel meadows, Aamulehti reports. Villi, who works in Helsinki, draws on childhood landscapes in North Ostrobothnia and the rhythmic furrows of farmland. Ruotsalo, based in Raasepori, is known for abstract expressionist work and for experimenting with painting techniques. The gallery opened in autumn 2025 in the historic Klingendahl factory building on Papinkatu. Works on display include Sini Villi: August Harvest (2026) and Panu Ruotsalo: Asfodeliniityt no.3 (2026).
