The 2028 IIHF World Junior Championship, the under-20 ice hockey world tournament, will take place at Nokia Arena in Tampere and the Gatorade Center in Turku from 26 December 2027 to 5 January 2028.
Organised by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association, the tournament will see top U20 national teams compete for the world title. Final host approval will be confirmed at the IIHF spring congress in May. Nokia Arena director Marko Hurme said the championship complements the arena's upcoming programme of major international events, and Tampere mayor Ilmari Nurminen highlighted the city's strong hockey tradition. Finland last hosted the World Juniors in 2016; the tournament was also held in Finland in 1980, 1985, 1990, 1998 and 2004.
