Toivo Elossa festival brings an eco-crisis–focused cultural programme to G Livelab Tampere on Friday 10 July 2026. Doors open at 18:00 and the programme runs from 19:00 to 23:59; the event is free and open to all ages.
The evening blends live music and spoken word around themes of hope, community and planetary limits. Songwriter Olva presents Finnish-language indiefolk with intimate, vulnerable expression; Tampere band Luhtaniitty explores human relations with nature through poetic lyrics and rootsy band playing; and Helsinki’s Pelko offers intense, cathartic indierock / bad dream pop addressing species loss and human guilt. The night opens with Elokapina’s Elokvartetti and a rebellious cover act that turned a song into a forest-protection anthem this year. Speaker contributions come from author Johanna Sinisalo, researcher and docent Raisa Foster, and eco-critical literary scholar Karoliina Lummaa. The venue is accessible. Production by Elokapina and G Livelab Tampere. A related singing event by the Laula elämän puolesta collective takes place at 17:00 on the Laikunlava stage in Kirjastonpuisto the same day.
