18-year-old dies after car leaves road and hits trees in Kylmäkoski
An 18-year-old man died after his car ran off Sotkiantie in Akaa at about 22:35 and struck trees; police are treating the incident as aggravated endangerment of traffic safety and are investigating the cause of death.
Police received a report at 22:35 of a single-vehicle accident on Sotkiantie in Akaa; the car ran off the road at high speed while negotiating a bend and struck trees beside the road. The vehicle was left heavily damaged. The driver, born in 2008, died at the scene. No one else was in the car. Police are treating the incident as aggravated endangerment of traffic safety and are carrying out a cause-of-death investigation, the broadcaster YLE reported.
