Amanda Görgin Ylimys brings 'Reflections on Deep Emotions' to Mobilia's Mini Cabinet

Mobilia says Reflections on Deep Emotions, a solo exhibition by Amanda Görgin Ylimys, will be on view in Mobilia's Mini Cabinet next to the café from 11 August to 29 September 2026. The display is open during Mobilia's regular hours when the space is not booked for groups.

The show follows the Mini Cabinet's July exhibition of watercolours and mixed-media works and continues the museum's summer programme of small-scale solo displays.

She began drawing as a child. Ylimys credits Tammerkoski Upper Secondary School's visual arts track with confirming her wish to pursue art professionally. Later she trained on the visual arts line at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, where acrylic painting became central to her practice. Working in a small one-room flat, she developed a taste for large compositions, often using panels sourced from flea markets.

Alongside painting and media art, the artist has built a career as a tattooist. Her tattoo work carries a painterly quality that echoes her canvases rather than reproducing traditional flash imagery. She also accepts commissions, creating portraits of people and pets to clients' specifications.

"When I paint, I feel most myself. For an emotional and sensitive person, art is a way to present their worldview," Ylimys says. She describes the paintings on show as reflecting spirituality, intuition and an inner calm. The exhibition includes acrylic works such as "Gaze" and "My Wings Will Carry Me."

Entry is free during Mobilia's opening hours except when the Mini Cabinet is in use by booked groups; visitors should check Mobilia's published opening times before planning a visit.
