According to Tamperelainen, Tampere Cathedral will host a commemorative service this Sunday at 10:00 to mark 100 years since the first Finnish-language radio church service. The event will be broadcast live on Yle Radio 1 and Yle TV1. The first Finnish-language radio service was transmitted from the same church on 12 September 1926, just two and a half days after Yleisradio began broadcasting. Archbishop Tapio Luoma will preach the jubilee mass, with parish pastor Monika Viitala serving as liturgist and cathedral dean Olli-Pekka Silfverhuth assisting. Music for the service is provided by cantor Katja Mäkiö, organist Riikka Viljakainen, timpani player Tiina Laukkanen and the Tampere Philharmonic Choir's treble ensemble under Ruut Kiiski.
