Kaleva Church marks 60 years with exhibition, rare cantata and jubilee mass
Tamperelainen reports that Kaleva Church will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a week of free events from 17 August, including an exhibition, workshops, a lecture, a newly rediscovered cantata and a jubilee mass.

The week opens with a photo exhibition on the church's early years, compiled by photographer Hannu Jukola and historian Mikko Pollari. The show, opened by dean Olli-Pekka Silfverhuth, remains on view until the end of September.
Workshops on 18–19 August invite participants of all ages to design and build miniature dream churches. Small children should attend with an adult. A public guided tour is scheduled for 18 August.
On 21 August emerita professor Aino Niskanen and architect Annukka Pietilä will give an architecture lecture discussing Reima and Raili Pietilä's design.
On 22 August Kamarikuoro Cantionale and the Tampere Chamber ensemble will premiere Mauri Hongisto's cantata Särkynyt ruoko, a work rediscovered in the church's music archive. Admission to the concert is free.
The week culminates in a jubilee mass on 23 August, with a sermon by Olli-Pekka Silfverhuth and liturgist Salla Häkkinen. After the service a celebratory program will include Mikko Pollari's history talk, music and communal singing. Visiting sister parishes from Hungary and Eastern Finland will also take part.
