Rakennusteollisuus RT ry announced that an Open Construction Sites Day will be held in Kangasala on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, bringing upper secondary school students to learn about construction and property services careers as part of the school day. The programme includes visits to the Tampere region’s vocational education provider Tredu and to a housing construction site commissioned by Pohjola Rakennus Oy. Organisers say the goal is to make the range of jobs in the construction and property services sector more familiar and to let students see what the work is like in practice, including different stages of home building at the real site. At Tredu, the students will be introduced to construction training options and learning environments, with construction teacher Perttu Palonen hosting the event. A representative from Rakennusteollisuus RT (Janne Suntio) will also give a short presentation on construction and property services, after which students will tour workshops covering building trades, building services engineering, and property services, as well as Tredu’s small-house construction site. On the actual worksite visit, the students will be provided with safety gear including safety shoes, high-visibility vests, protective helmets and safety glasses. During the visit, they will hear about Pohjola Rakennus Oy’s construction site and the roles of the professionals working there, with the site’s responsible foreman and site management acting as hosts.
