Collision Near Tampere Centre Blocks Traffic to Kaleva

YLE reports the rescue department received a call about a medium-sized collision just before noon on Sunday near the junction of Lempääläntie and Kuokkamaantie. The crash is blocking traffic toward Kaleva while responders assess the scene. Expect delays. Motorists may need to use alternative routes until the area is cleared.

According to Aamulehti, the incident was a three-car chain collision caused when a speeding car failed to slow at the Kuokkamaantie intersection on Lempääläntie in Tampere, colliding with the vehicle ahead.

Aamulehti adds that duty fire chief Juha Toivonen said two occupants were checked at the scene and one person was transported for further examination. The same report notes that traffic toward Tampere was briefly blocked before returning to normal.
