Telia's mobile and landline networks are down across parts of Sastamala and neighbouring Nokia after a damaged cable. Technicians are repairing the cable. They expect repairs to take a few hours, YLE reported.
Emergency calls to 112 are still working. Contracted volunteer fire brigades (VPK) are on duty at local stations, and assistance is available at Mouhijärven VPK, Pynnärintie 7; Keikyän VPK, Äetsäntie 329; and Punkalaitumen VPK, Lauttakyläntie 329.
Officials in the Pirkanmaa wellbeing services region said urgent-care numbers such as general emergency assistance 116117 are functioning normally. Sastamala campus hospital wards are using backup phones and personal safety phones remain operational. Authorities will monitor the situation through the night and increase readiness in the area if needed.
