Drilling Ignites Fire Inside Wall of Hervanta Industrial Hall

The fire began inside the wall while workers were drilling a penetration in a roughly 1,000-square-metre industrial hall on Hepolamminkatu in Hervanta on Tuesday afternoon, YLE reports. Santeri Susi, a fire officer at the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department's incident and command centre, said crews quickly contained and controlled the blaze. Several square metres of the hall's wall were damaged. The main electrical distribution board was also hit. People on site helped extinguish the fire before rescuers arrived. Emergency medical services checked two workers for smoke exposure.
