Tram drivers say the Santalahti–Hiedanranta stretch on Line 1 offers Tampere's best sunrise and sunset views, with Rosenlew Bridge and the outlook over Näsijärvi singled out for dramatic light and reflections.

A Tamperelainen survey of tram drivers published on 11 September 2025 found that the Santalahti–Hiedanranta stretch on Line 1 offers the city's best sunrise and sunset views.

Drivers singled out the Rosenlew Bridge crossing and the outlook over Näsijärvi, praising the dramatic light and reflections at dawn and dusk. Nina Mustasilta said she has often wanted to ask passengers to look out when she crosses Rosenlew Bridge. Colleagues described the same section and the Hiedanranta–Santalahti run as full of dramatic light, reflections and the moon bridge crossing the lake.

Hanna Hurri, VR's operational supervisor for the tram, said the survey produced a clear favourite: Line 1. Drivers balance preferences across routes. Mustasilta enjoys both the slower, scenic sections on Line 1 and the faster stretches on Line 3 along Hervannan valtaväylä, and she says the variety keeps the work stimulating. Mustasilta began driving trams in April 2022. She says transporting people safely is what she likes most about the job.
