Early-morning Crash: Driver Rescued as Car Flips and Burns on Vesilahdentie in Sastamala
A car ran off Vesilahdentie in Sastamala at 1:14 a.m. on Sunday, overturned and caught fire; a bystander rescued the driver, who was later taken to hospital with light injuries.
At 1:14 a.m. on Sunday a passenger car ran off Vesilahdentie between Ekojärventie and Jouhikkaantie in Sastamala, overturned into a ditch and caught fire, Tamperelainen reports.
A bystander pulled the driver out before responders arrived. Firefighters from the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department extinguished the blaze. Emergency medical services transported the lightly injured driver to hospital for treatment. The car was left at the roadside awaiting towing, and authorities say the cause of the runoff is under investigation.
