A free lecture series on personal budgeting starts at Sampola on 15 September 2026, with follow-up sessions and a hands-on Budgeting Clinic course beginning in October.

A free lecture series on personal budgeting kicks off at Sampola auditorium on Tuesday 15 September 2026, with the opening talk "Budgeting as a Tool for Managing Your Finances" running from 17:00 to 18:30 and introducing annual budgeting as a practical way to map income and expenses over the year.

Organised by the Tampere Region Adult Education Centre, the series aims to give participants concrete skills and a greater sense of control over their money. The sessions use examples to show the benefits of annual budgeting and help people free up resources for priorities they value, says Kristiina Kestinen, the education planner responsible for the series.

It follows free drop-in money clinics in Tampere that offered anonymous help with bills, debt and housing earlier money clinics in Tampere.

A follow-up lecture on 29 September covers savings plans based on budgeting and presents the "Anticipate and Prepare for the Future" workbook produced by the Pirkanmaa Legal Aid Office's financial and debt counselling service.

After the talks, a free hands-on Budgeting Clinic course begins on 6 October, meeting four Tuesdays, 17:00–19:15, in classroom 301 at Sampola. Instructors are Maija Nykänen and Hanna Toivaala, and participants should attend the first session. To register for the Budgeting Clinic, email [email protected].
