Sampola will host a free Mystery Night on 13 November, with drop-in activities, workshops and performances for families, young people and adults.

Sampola will host a free Mystery Night on Friday 13 November 2026 from 17:00 to 23:00. The community adult education and library premises will offer drop-in activities, workshops and performances for families, young people and adults.

Children aged 4–7 can try sleuthing in the Sinustako etsivä? (Could you be a detective?) session from 17:00–18:00, while 8–12-year-olds can tackle the Lost Seal mystery between 17:00 and 20:00. A mystery craft workshop runs in the lobby until 21:00, and the library’s TekoMo maker space offers 3D-printing projects on mystery themes until 21:00. Author Reetta Vuokko-Syrjänen leads two writing workshops in Ritva Hall: a story workshop for 4–12-year-olds at 17:15–18:45, and a session on crafting gripping mysteries for teens and adults at 19:00–20:30.

At 18:00 Juha Vitikainen from the Police Museum will lecture on the long-unsolved Tattarisuolla case. A mystery-themed book talk follows at 19:00–20:00, and a quiz at 20:00–21:00 offers a book prize for the winner. Joose Keskitalo performs at 21:00; an interview and live stream will be available on the Tampere City Library YouTube channel. An adult bedtime story finishes the night at 22:30–23:00.

Organisers have hidden 15 passes around accessible public areas of Sampola; finders can claim a €30 course gift card from the Tampere Region Adult Education Centre when spring term courses are published the same day. Students from Tammerkosken lukio will sell crafts in the lobby, and the student association café will serve visitors. Payments accepted include cash, card and MobilePay. The event follows safer space principles and is organised by Tampere Region Adult Education Centre, Tampere City Library, the city culture unit and Tammerkosken lukio.

The event follows other free Sampola programmes this autumn, including photo lectures in October and November.
