Free Moomin Birthday Bash at Tampere-talo on 8 August
Tampere-talo hosts a free Moomin birthday celebration on Saturday 8 August from 10:00–16:00 with discounted entry to the Moomin Museum and family activities including readings, meet-and-greets and workshops.
The free celebration runs on Saturday 8 August from 10:00 to 16:00, with discounted entry to the Moomin Museum, Tamperelainen reports.
The day begins at 10:00 with a wreath-laying at the Moomintroll statue. A fanfare by Tampere Philharmonia will be played by trumpeters Eero Kiukkonen and Xiang Guo.
Highlights include a Moomin ball led by accordionist Henna Leppänen, readings of the Moomin books by actor Timo Torikka and several Moomin Meet & Greet sessions.
Guided tours for children and adults will be offered at the Moomin Museum; visitors can also try a rosette workshop in the museum studio or follow an all-day Moomin animation marathon.
There will be a Sandudd Oy wallpaper exhibition, a colouring workshop, Plus-Plus building activities and a Finnish Red Cross Teddy Hospital for kids.
The celebration is part of Tampere's ongoing efforts to expand local Moomin offerings, following earlier discussions about complementary Moomin experiences.
