Happoradio has released 'This Here Now', the lead single from its ninth album due 18 September, and will headline Tammerfest in Tampere on 16 July as part of a nationwide summer tour.

ePressi reports that on 8 May Happoradio released "This Here Now", the lead single from its forthcoming ninth album, due 18 September, as part of the band’s 25th anniversary year. The single arrives as the group prepares a nationwide summer tour with a headline slot at Tammerfest in Tampere on 16 July.

Lead singer Aki Tykki described the song as a call to stop wasting time on petty disputes. “We humans waste far too much time on completely trivial arguing and whining. Often just for the sake of our pride and to preserve some strange honour we’ve even invented ourselves. One should always remember the old wisdom that the past is gone and the future is not yet. So in the end we only have this, here and now,” he said.

Tykki added that the track reflects on the shortness of life, forgiveness and longing, ending on a light note about nature: “This here now is a song about the shortness of the time allotted to us in the midst of eternity. It is also a song about forgiveness and longing. And about ferns. Ferns existed already in the age of dinosaurs, now it’s our moment to breathe them in,” he said with a smile.

Happoradio has been actively touring through spring and will visit dozens of Finnish towns this summer. The schedule includes Vesilahti (26 June), Turku (27 June), Kuopio (3 July), Tammerfest in Tampere (16 July), Porispere in Pori (1 August) and a performance aboard the Tallink Victoria ferry in Helsinki (22 August).

The band has carried a prominent role in Finnish rock for a quarter century and is framing the new single as the first public glimpse of its upcoming album. The single is available on major streaming platforms and the band continues to promote the anniversary release across social media.
