Hook Opens at Tullikamarin Aukio, Plans Giant Terrace with Big Screen

Tamperelainen reports that Hook, the Tampere-born restaurant chain, will open a new outlet at Tullikamarin aukio on Friday 9 October, replacing the former Edun Herkkukeidas premises. The site sits in a part of the city that owner Juha Vuorio says has become a hub of activity thanks to its proximity to Tammela stadium and Tampere Hall.

NoHo Partners, which owns the neighbouring Bar Passion, will close that venue and launch Bar Tullari next to Hook. The two restaurants will share a customer passage, and Hook’s menu will also be available inside Bar Tullari. This follows earlier reporting that Bar Passion would close and be replaced by Bar Tullari. Hook plans to close slightly earlier than Bar Tullari on weekend nights.

A large joint terrace is planned for next summer, equipped for major sporting events. It will feature a giant screen. The venues will also host early-week quizzes and sports bingo.

Later this autumn Hook will add a tomahawk steak for two to the Tullikamari menu. Seasoned with flavored butter and created by chef Harri Syrjänen, the dish will later be introduced at other Hook locations. Vuorio says Hook is not just a wing restaurant but a family-oriented sports venue, offering burgers, ribs and salads alongside wings. Wings’ share of sales has fallen from about 80 percent to roughly 50 percent, and Hook products will continue to be sold at Nokia Arena events.
