Hytönen's 15th not enough as Ilves held 1–1 at IFK Mariehamn
Ilves were held to a 1–1 draw at IFK Mariehamn as Teemu Hytönen scored his 15th goal of the season, but the visitors could not find a winner.
Ilves were held to a 1–1 draw by IFK Mariehamn in Mariehamn on Saturday in their final away match of the season. Teemu Hytönen scored Ilves' goal, Aamulehti reported.
The match was scrappy early on. Jesse Kilo hit the post after ten minutes and several stoppages disrupted play. The breakthrough came in the 69th minute when a loose ball in the box allowed Hytönen, who now leads the club's scoring chart, to tap in his 15th goal of the season. About 15 minutes later, substitute Thomas Klemetsen Jakobsen slipped a finish past Ilves keeper Faris Krkalic to level.
IFK Mariehamn still have plenty at stake as they battle to avoid direct relegation against FF Jaro. The two sides go into the final round separated by two points and meet in Pietarsaari. Ilves return home to finish their season next Saturday at Tammela Stadium against SJK. They sit one point behind relegation group leader FC Lahti, who face TPS in the last round.
