Iceflake unveils Lego Skylines, a brick-by-brick city builder, at Gamescom
Tampere's Iceflake Studios unveiled Lego Skylines, a Lego-themed city-builder, at Gamescom in Cologne on Aug. 25.
Iceflake Studios in Tampere unveiled Lego Skylines, a Lego-themed city-building simulation, at Gamescom in Cologne on Tuesday, August 25, Aamulehti reported.
The game lets players construct Lego-style cities and manage services and residents’ needs. It blends hands-on, brick-by-brick building with traditional simulation systems, offering both creative construction and deeper management gameplay.
Iceflake is part of Paradox Interactive, the Sweden-based publisher that took responsibility for the Cities: Skylines sequel in 2025. Since then, Iceflake has been leading development on the follow-up originally created by Tampere’s Colossal Order.
Studio founder and game director Lasse Liljedahl said the team is eager to combine Lego creativity with its experience in deep management and simulation design.
The original Cities: Skylines (2015) reached nearly 13 million downloads. The sequel, however, suffered serious technical problems, fell short of that success and still lacks a released console version.
The announcement comes amid a busy period for Tampere's games scene: Dreamloop has been assembling staff for a major new production earlier this year, and the international Game On exhibition brought over 100 playable video games to Tampere this summer.
