International Game On exhibition lands in Tampere this summer
Tampere will host the international Game On exhibition for the first time this summer at Tampere-talo's Sorsapuistosali, bringing over 100 playable video games to the city from June 27 to August 9.
Aamulehti reports that Tampere will host the international Game On exhibition for the first time this summer, bringing over 100 playable video games to Sorsapuistosali in Tampere-talo from June 27 to August 9. The family-friendly show has toured 44 venues in 28 countries and drawn more than four million visitors.
Visitors will explore video-game history and current developments across eleven themed areas, with playable consoles and displays of game characters, handheld and arcade games. Iconic franchises such as Mario, Halo and Space Invaders are featured, and the exhibition also highlights Finland's game industry history from the 1980s Amiga demo scene to Angry Birds.
On Fridays the venue hosts 18+ evenings. A pop-up Gamer Shop at the entrance sells game-themed merchandise and licensed products from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sega for visitors without a show ticket. Game On is produced by Tampere Live, Barbican Centre and City of London Corporation.
