Ilves to turn Nokia Arena green for World Mental Health Day
Ilves will host a Green Game at Nokia Arena on Friday 9 October to mark World Mental Health Day, featuring an information point from MIELI ry, donation collection and free youth ticket vouchers for primary pupils.
On Friday, 9 October Nokia Arena will host a Green Game to spotlight mental health ahead of World Mental Health Day. MIELI ry will be in the arena to share information and collect donations for Pirkanmaa crisis centres.
The club and MIELI will run an information point in the arena lobby where visitors can meet representatives from MIELI Kriisikeskus Osviitta and MIELI Tukitalo Sastamala, learn about low-threshold support and find national services such as the Crisis Helpline and Sekasin-chat.
The voucher programme for primary school pupils was announced earlier as a partnership giving free youth tickets for the 9 and 17 October games, and the Green Game is one of several themed home matches the club unveiled this season when it opened ticket sales. Tampere primary school pupils have been given voucher codes good for a youth ticket to the Ilves–Lukko match on 9 October and the Ilves–Jokerit match on 17 October. Fans are encouraged to wear green to show support.
MIELI’s Pirkanmaa centres operate both face-to-face and remotely and often offer appointments within days. They use the Linity method in suicide prevention work. The centres rely heavily on donations and volunteer help. About 200 volunteers work alongside professionals, and in 2025 the two centres registered around 4,800 client visits and answered roughly 9,700 crisis calls.
The Ilves–Lukko game starts at 18:30; doors and pregame activities open from 17:30. Tickets are available via ilves.lippu.fi.
