Julia Sangervo, Green League's top Tampere vote-getter, to run for Parliament in Pirkanmaa

Sangervo confirmed her candidacy to Tamperelainen, saying she will run as a Green League candidate in next year's parliamentary election in Pirkanmaa.

A psychologist and Tampere city councillor, Sangervo was the Greens' top vote-getter in Tampere in the spring 2025 municipal elections, receiving 3,076 votes. After the 2023 election she narrowly became a deputy member of parliament when the Green League lost its second seat in Pirkanmaa. Her campaign priorities are defending the welfare state, strengthening mental health services and protecting the climate and nature.

So far, the Green League's Pirkanmaa candidate list includes Noora Hakulinen, Anita Huhtala, Perttu Jussila, Kerttu Kajander, Johanna Kirjavainen, Linda Litmanen, Mikko Nisukangas, Sanna Piitulainen, Hanna Sareila, Petri Siuro, Iia Suomi and Oras Tynkkynen who announced his bid in May and urged the Greens to aim for two or three seats.
