Tampereen Komediateatteri will stage Liila Jokelin’s new play Liian kallista at its Main Stage from 18 February 2027, a dark comedy about generational tensions over parenthood and financial priorities.

Tampereen Komediateatteri will stage Liila Jokelin’s new play Liian kallista at its Main Stage on Thursday 18 February 2027, Aamulehti reported.

The darkly comic drama stars Verneri Lilja as a thirty-something recovering from burnout, and Ilona Karppelin plays a mysterious new love who reignites his life. Parents, portrayed by Karoliina Kudjoi and Mika Nuojua, clash with younger generations over whether to have children and about financial priorities. The tension fuels the play's humour.

Jokelin, 36, says the script draws on her long-running doubts about reproduction and the kind of world a child would inherit. The production grew out of a proposal from artistic director Panu Raipia.

The cast also includes Panu Valo. Kaisa Savolainen designed the costumes and Oskari Löytönen the set.
