A Marianna Uutinen retrospective will headline Tampere's 2027 museum season at the Sara Hildén Art Museum, while Museum Centre Vapriikki stages Poison!, an exhibition featuring live animals.

Tampere's 2027 exhibition programme is headlined by a Marianna Uutinen retrospective at the Sara Hildén Art Museum and Poison!, an exhibition with live animals at Museum Centre Vapriikki. Museum directors outlined the plans at the Sara Hildén press breakfast.

The Sara Hildén Art Museum will stage Uutinen's retrospective from 13 February to 30 May 2027. It is followed by Simple Yet Complex, a summer display of 21st-century works from the Sara Hildén Foundation running 22/23 June to 26 September.

Vapriikki, which marks its 30th anniversary in November 2026, has a wide slate of shows in 2027. Poison! runs 4 February to 7 November 2027, and is the first Vapriikki exhibition to include live animals. Other offerings include Nature Photos of the Year (12 February to 11 April), the Pikku Kakkonen anniversary exhibition from 6 May, Pollinator Diversity in September, and a new Mineral Museum opening on 4 November.

Other highlights across the city's museums include the Postal Museum's 100th anniversary programme with behind-the-scenes access, and the Pikku Kakkonen's Post exhibition opening 15 January. Museocon on 16 January will celebrate the Finnish Museum of Games' 10th anniversary. Museum Milavida presents Palmroth – A Century of Shoe Fashion from 29 April 2027 into early 2028. Tampere Art Museum will name the Young Artist of the Year on 21 January 2027, with the prize exhibition in summer. Roope Itälinna's show opens 31 October 2026 in the Finlayson Area, following an earlier announcement made in September. The Moomin Museum will close from 6 January 2028 for about three months for a major revamp; Moomin Mug Mania remains on display until then as part of the city's Moomin vision toward 2030. The Tampere Art Map project has ended, and public sculptures are now listed in the Tampere.Finland app.
