Hämeen-Pirkanmaan Martat will open a new apple-juice pressing station at Rissonkatu 2 in Atala on Thursday 3 September.
Appointments run Monday–Saturday from 08:00 to 20:00; bookings and inquiries are handled by phone at 050 522 6420, with the reservation line staffed on weekdays from 09:00 to 15:00.
Maria Järvelin, director of Hämeen-Pirkanmaan Martat, says the smallest batch processed is about 30 kilograms of apples and that one kilogram yields roughly half a litre of juice. Demand is already high: the first two weeks of September are fully booked.
The move follows the sale and rezoning of the previous Nekala site on Jokipohjantie and the earlier Haukiluoma location, which was demolished for housing.
Surplus apples from Tampere-region gardens have been arriving at local waste centres, increasing interest in local pressing services coverage of surplus apples at Pirkanmaa waste centres, Aamulehti reports.
