Masked Suspect Sets Car Ablaze at Akaa Home

According to YLE, on Sept. 16 a masked person appeared at the door of a detached house in Akaa and set a car in the carport on fire. Dressed in dark clothing, they rang the doorbell repeatedly and banged on the door before fleeing. Multiple police patrols and rescue department units responded. Officers evacuated three adults and two pets, and firefighters extinguished the blaze before it reached the living areas. Investigations into aggravated criminal damage and breach of domestic peace are under way. The suspect was arrested the next day and later released after questioning and investigative procedures. A temporary restraining order has been issued against them in relation to the resident. Authorities told YLE the suspect and the residents knew each other, and such attacks are rarely aimed at randomly chosen homes.
