Nokia Arena creates 138-guest VIP suites by merging boxes
Nokia Arena has reworked its private boxes so several can be merged into a single VIP suite for up to 138 guests, Aamulehti reports.
A newly reworked suite at Nokia Arena can be combined into a single space for 138 guests, Aamulehti says. The Tampere arena carried out summer renovations focused on its private boxes. The work aimed to better serve large events and changing customer needs.
Nokia Arena CEO Marko Hurme said the project introduced "a new type of suite concept", allowing several boxes to be joined into larger VIP areas. It responds to organisers' requests for flexible hospitality spaces and to a market where demand no longer centres only on traditional 15-person boxes.
He stressed that the arena did not reduce the total number of suites but made them more versatile. All boxes at Nokia Arena remain long-term rentals, unlike at Veikkaus Arena in Helsinki where suites were sold as shares. The venue will put the new layout to use next week, when it hosts week-long pool play for the European Volleyball Championship. Ilves and Tappara begin their SM-liiga home schedules in late September.
The update follows Ilves's ticket sales announcement and the arena's recent wheelchair-seating expansion in the run-up to the new season.
