Pirkanmaa seeks new regional director

YLE reports that Pirkanmaa Regional Council will begin the hunt for a new regional director after current head Anna-Mari Ahonen moves to become secretary-general at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, with the change taking effect on March 15 and a successor to be elected by June 1.
Until a new director is chosen, development director Matti Lipsanen will serve as acting regional director. The council notes that the successful candidate must have national and international advocacy experience, broad networks, and the ability to lead change, and must hold a suitable university degree with substantial practical experience in the council’s field. The regional council’s board decided today to advertise the post, and the assembly will elect a new director on June 1.
